Following graduation from UCD in 1996, Ernan spent 2 years in mixed practice in Northern Ireland. Ernan then moved to Greenwood Ellis & Partners (now Newmarket Equine Hospital) where he spent 5 years. He then transitioned to Sycamore Lodge and did 3 seasons working with Scone Vet Hospitalin Australia's Hunter Valley. Ernan's veterinary interests lie in equine reproduction, stud medicine and the thoroughbred in training.

Michael Walsh has over 25 years commercial experience in the medical device industry. Having started his career in the USA with Angiodynamics Glenns Falls NY, he returned to Ireland to project manage their brown field site to manufacturing facility for catheter-based therapies, coronary stents, and capital diagnostic equipment, from there he managed the Angiodymanics sales and distribution channels for the Ireland/UK, Nordic Region and South Africa. Subsequent to that role, he held various positions within Medtronic for 17 years. He oversaw the exponential growth of the Neuromodulation business within the UK and Ireland from start-up phase to mature business. He managed several businesses within Medtronic culminating in the position of Irish Country Manager which he held for 7 years. Under his stewardship the business experienced significant growth increasing revenue from $30M to $80M. He is a former statutory director of Medtronic Ireland, Medtronic Kyphon Research Ireland, and member of multiple International Leadership teams within Medtronic. From Medtronic he transitioned to Mainstay Medical where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager responsible for Market Access and Business Development successfully gaining UK NICE approval for its ReActiv8 Therapy and successfully executing the European Sales Strategy. He was recruited for the position of Chief Operating Officer for i360 Medical which he held for 3 years. He had responsibility for a Joint Venture Partnership between Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging and The Bon Secours Health System. He is currently Commercial Advisor to a number of Medical Technology Companies. He is a former board member of Health Tech Ireland, is a member of Enterprise Ireland’s Business Partners Programme, and a Med Tech Business Mentor to The European Institute of Innovation and Technology. He Holds a B.A. in Economics from Iona College – New Rochelle – New York, USA.

In 2015 we were the first company to provide UV technology to the Royal Manchester Childrens hospital, and through daily use of our machines, reduced acquired hospital infections by 75% ( NHS approved study).
2020 Finalist for Innovative Technology
In 2020, we presented this technology to the Health innovation hub at Cork University and a panel of experts in the Irish healthcare adjudicated the efficiacy of UV studies both in the UK and US, in reducing acquired infections in hospital. Hytech specialised control systems was named 2020 finalist for innovative technology .
EQ Ultra for Equine Industry
We have now launched the Surface and air disinfection device EQ ULTRA for surface and air disinfection. providing air and surface disinfection within 10 minutes cycles. Independently tested by the national equine centre in Kildare Ireland , this equipment delivered 5 log reduction of bacteria and moulds inside a 14m x 15mx 3 m ceiling stall in the air and 4 log reduction on all surfaces such as the water basin, bottom of doors to stalls , all within 7 minutes.

The EQ Ultra device is mobile and pushes straight into stables, horse box transporters , as well as equine hospital theatres . It utilises specific UV-C light to kill germs and pathogens that may remain on the surface, and in the air, even after manual cleaning and disinfection by traditional methods.
